Unlike many other art blogs, the primary content of this blog is the result of personal interviews and conversations with artists and other personalities within the Toronto art community. Rather than providing the reader with an obsessive stream of recycled information and fleeting disposable perspectives of local happenings, the articles here seek not only to provide my own reviews of artists’ practices, but also to give them a rare chance to explain themselves so that they can be represented from a deeper personal understanding of their creative motivations.
Trish Boon is an artist, freelance writer, and educator based in Toronto, Canada who spends much of her free time perusing art openings in search of inspiring creations to fuel her passion of weaving visual forms into artistic prose. Aside from this blog, you can read her works in various art publications such as Canadian Art Magazine, Magenta Magazine, and Square 2 Magazine. A member of the Metal Arts Guild of Canada, Boon’s art practice centres on jewelry making in sterling silver and enameled copper. Take a look at her work at www.bytrishboon.com or at various shops throughout the city.
